‘Nahjol Al-Balaqe’, a work considered higher than word of man though subordinate to word of God, reflects the views and ideas of its author, Imam Ali (P.B.U.H). It is on various issues including theology, literature, mysticism, gnosticism, philosophy, prosody, history, statesmanship, economics and management.
This bood has been the subject of study by many distinguished scholars, Sunnite as well as Shi'ite. Ibn Abi Al-Hadid Motazelli, a great commentator and a disciple of Imam Ali, is the one who has released twenty volumes of interpretations on Nahjol-Al Blaqe. The introductory volume explains the outstanding personality of Imam Ali. However, in certain cases, resorting to far-fetched speculation, he misinterpretes Imam's words.
This article attempts to pinpoint some of these misinterpretations.
